This Cookie Policy explains how Vawlt Technologies, S.A. (“Vawlt”, “we”, “us” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our website at https://vawlt.io and our management platform at https://platform.vawlt.io (together, the “Site”). It should be read together with our Datenschutzbestimmungen, which explains how we process personal data more generally.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to the site owner and third parties. Similar technologies (such as pixels, tags and local storage) perform comparable functions. In this Policy, we refer to all of them as “cookies”.

Cookies may be set by Vawlt (“first-party cookies”) or by third-party services we use (“third-party cookies”). They may last only for your session (“session cookies”) or remain on your device for a defined period (“persistent cookies”).

2. The categories of cookies we use

We group cookies into four categories:

  • Erforderlich — required for the website to function and to remember your cookie choices. These are always active and cannot be switched off.
  • Funktionale — enable enhanced functionality, such as the website chat and remembering preferences.
  • Analytische — help us understand how visitors use the website so we can improve it.
  • Werbe — used to measure and personalise advertising and marketing campaigns across websites.

3. Your choices and how to manage cookies

When you first visit our website, a cookie banner lets you accept or reject non-essential cookies. Necessary cookies are always active. Functional, analytics and advertisement cookies are only set after you accept them through the banner. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookie Settings link on our website.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings, including deleting existing cookies or blocking new ones. Because cookie controls are specific to each browser and device, you may need to repeat your preferences across browsers. Blocking some cookies may affect how the website functions.

5. Web beacons and similar technologies

Cookies are not the only way to recognise visitors to our website. We may also use other, similar technologies such as web beacons (sometimes called “tracking pixels” or “clear gifs”) — tiny graphics files that contain a unique identifier and let us recognise when someone has visited our website. We use these, for example, to understand the traffic patterns of visitors, to tell whether you reached our website from an online advertisement, and to measure the performance of our website. These technologies often rely on cookies to function, so declining cookies may impair how they work.

6. Third-party cookies and international transfers

Some cookies are set by third-party providers — such as Google, Meta, LinkedIn, YouTube and ActiveCampaign — for analytics, advertising, video or communication purposes. These providers may process data on their own servers, including outside the European Economic Area (EEA), in particular in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, we take steps to ensure it is protected in line with applicable data protection law, on the basis of an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses. For details on international transfers, see our Datenschutzbestimmungen.

7. Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for legal or operational reasons. The updated version will be indicated by the “Last updated” date above. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
